What is Amazon Locker?
They’re lockers placed in certain establishments like petrol stations, restaurants, supermarkets or shopping centres, which you can choose as a place for your Amazon order to be left.
They’re made of metal and have a security system that ensures that only the person who placed the order can open the locker. This way you can rest assured that no one will be able to take your package from you.
As such, Amazon helps you avoid the tedious task of going to the transport company’s office to pick up an order that couldn’t be delivered because no one was home. This solution is ideal for people who don’t spend much time at home, whether it’s because of their work or other reasons.
An example could be if you wanted to buy an Amazon product when you’re on holiday.
How is it used?
The first thing you should do when placing your order is choose an Amazon Hub Locker as your pick-up point and check its location and opening hours. Please note that not all orders are eligible for this delivery method.
Once your order has been delivered to the collection point, you’ll receive an email notification with instructions and most importantly, a code to open the locker. It’s also possible that instead of a code, you’ll find a “Start pick-up” button which, when pressed, will open the locker via the Bluetooth connection on your smartphone.
In any case, the process is quite simple and intuitive and you’ll simply have to follow the instructions sent to your email to be able to use the service.
The only limitation of the service, apart from the size (logically there are no Lockers big enough to hold a TV) is that you have to pick up the order within a maximum period of 3 days from delivery. If you fail to do so, the item will be returned to Amazon and you’ll receive a full refund.
