Circular economy on Amazon with 2 new services: “FBA Liquidations” and “FBA Grade and Resell”

The circular economy at Amazon is already a reality with the new launch of two logistics programs that will make it easier for companies selling on Amazon to put items returned by customers and surplus stock up for sale.

Thanks to this initiative, Amazon’s selling partners will no longer have to dispose of their products, but will be able to give them a second life and make money from them.

What results are expected from this circular economy model, through FBA, on Amazon?

It is estimated that the new logistics programs, “FBA Liquidations” and “FBA Grade and Resell”, will give a second life to more than 300 million products, preventing them from being returned to sellers. These services are useful for many of the companies that sell on Amazon because most of them do not have a warehouse where they can store returns or surplus product.

“We are committed to building a sustainable and environmentally friendly business model, supporting the communities where we work and reducing the impact of climate change for future generations,” said Libby Johnson McKee, Head of Amazon WW Returns, ReCommerce and Sustainability.

Where is this FBA program available?

The “FBA Liquidations” program is already available in Spain, the United States, Germany, France and Italy, and will soon be available in the United Kingdom as well.

Meanwhile, the “FBA Grade and Resell” service, which is already available in the UK, will be rolled out in the US by the end of the year. It will arrive in Spain, Germany, France and Italy from 2022 only for products available on FBA.

These programs are designed to foster a circular economy within Amazon, maximize reuse, and reduce Amazon’s impact on the planet. These are just some of Amazon’s sustainability initiatives that include The Climate Pledge and its commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 and use 100% renewable energy by 2025.
